1. Meet & Greet

Meet your guide for a warm welcome and an introduction to the day’s adventure. You’ll get fitted with snowshoes and poles, receive a short briefing on safety and technique, and prepare for the journey ahead. From there, we’ll drive to the starting point in the wilderness.

2. Begin the ascent

Start your snowshoe trek through the peaceful forests and snowy slopes. Along the way, your guide will teach you how to spot animal tracks and share insights about the local Arctic wildlife. Stop occasionally to take photos and admire the changing light over the fells.

3. Break in a traditional kota

Midway through the tour, pause at a charming kota to enjoy a warm drink and light snacks such as coffee, tea, or local berry juice. Take a moment to relax, warm up by the fire, and soak in the quiet beauty of the surrounding Arctic wilderness.

4. Kesänki summit

Continue the climb to the top of Mount Kesänki (weather permitting), where you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views over the seven fells. Your guide will point out notable landmarks and share stories about the area, offering plenty of opportunities for photos and quiet reflection.

5. Descent

Note: The itinerary and order of activities may be adjusted based on weather and logistics to ensure an optimal and safe experience.

Skill Level & Physical Condition

This experience is suitable for participants with a basic to moderate fitness level and a sense of adventure. No previous snowshoeing experience is required, as your guide will provide a brief introduction and guidance throughout the trek. The tour involves a few hours of walking, including some uphill sections, so participants should be comfortable walking on uneven, snowy terrain. Please dress appropriately for Arctic weather, with warm layered clothing, gloves, hat, and thick socks. If needed, NordX Adventures can provide winter overalls and boots upon request for an extra fee.

This tour is not recommended for pregnant travelers, people with heart conditions, or those with limited mobility. We do not recommend participation for children under 10 years old. Younger participants may join only upon prior approval from NordX Adventures before booking.
