Polar Escape: Between Thrill and Wonder
Between Adventure & Nordic Comfort

Soon, your touring skis become your passport to untouched landscapes. From the heights of Kesänki Fell to the remote wilderness of Nammalakuru, each day offers a new perspective on this fascinating polar region. You will move through an enchanting setting, alternating between gentle ascents, smooth descents, and friendly breaks around a fire in a traditional kota.
Nammalakuru: An Immersive & Unforgettable Experience
The pinnacle of this journey takes place at the Nammalakuru refuge, where you will spend two nights in the heart of nature. Without electricity or running water, this secluded haven invites you to embrace simplicity, where the crackling of the wood stove and the glow of candlelight replace the distractions of everyday life. As night falls, if the sky is clear, the Northern Lights may illuminate these timeless moments, making the experience truly magical.
An Adventure with Peace of Mind
Far from being just a sports expedition, this journey is an invitation to slow down, to listen to the silence of winter, and to savor each moment. Whether it’s a ski tour under the golden Arctic sun, a thrilling snowmobile ride, or a visit to the Ice Village, every experience is a unique way to discover the wonders of the North.
Skill Level & Physical Requirements
No prior experience in Nordic or alpine skiing is required for this adventure. We will be using OAC skis, specially designed to be stable, intuitive, and easy to master. However, a moderate level of fitness is necessary, as a 15 km trek is required to reach the Nammalakuru refuge. Prepare for an accessible yet engaging experience, where the combination of wilderness and physical effort creates unforgettable moments in the heart of Lapland.
Accommodation
During this journey, you will spend two nights at the Nammalakuru refuge. While lacking electricity and running water, it offers everything needed for a comfortable stay in the wild. Mattresses and blankets are provided for a restful sleep, while a wood-burning stove provides comforting warmth, its flickering flames creating a cozy and serene atmosphere. The rest of the adventure will be spent in a fully equipped chalet, offering comfort and a welcoming environment. Surrounded by nature, this wooden chalet will be the perfect place to relax and recharge after each day’s adventure.
